Protect yourself from credit card fraudulent transactions

Here are some tips to protect yourself from fraudulent transactions on your credit/debit card


  • Never save your card details in any of the online websites even though they claim its safe
  • Do Not share OTP (One-Time Password) usually in number received to your mobile device/e-mail
  • Never share confidential details like Card number/Card expiry date/CVV/Internet password/ATM PIN/Telephone PIN with anyone
  • Take some time to review your credit card and bank statements regularly
  • Always save your bank's customer care number as a contact in your mobile phone for quick & easy access in the need hours

Now what if you have exposed any of your confidential information to the fraudster:


  • Immediately block your credit card by calling to your bank's customer care number
  • Change your internet banking password if you have shared the same with a fraudster
  • Modify Daily withdrawal limit to minimum in your Internet banking if your bank has such option

SBI - Transaction declined due to 057-TXN NOT SUPPORTED

Just a quick find and it's my first blog on the SBI payment gateway error - 057-TXN NOT SUPPORTED.
Which means your ATM card is not linked/activated to your Savings bank account.

When it occurs:

When trying to make payment using your SBI Debit card

2 ways to fix:

1) By contacting your SBI branch if you do not have Online Banking access
2) It's easy to fix if you an active online banking access to your SBI account. Follow the below steps:

  • Login to onlinesbi.com using your Username & Password
  • After successful login, Click on e-services > ATM Card Services > New ATM Card Activation > Enter your ATM card number > Click on Activate > Validate OTP received your mobile.
Now if you retry your payment, it should work! Happy shopping!
